Players at Essex’s hilliest golf course have bought a do-it-yourself defibrillator to help heart attack victims.

Boyce Hill Golf Course, in Vicarage Hill, Benfleet, is renowned for its hills and stunning views, but several members have suffered heart failure in recent years.

The 16th hole – on the steepest section of the course – is even nicknamed Heart Attack Hill.
